Unsworth Academy

Here’s what people say about our school. If you would like to comment about Unsworth Academy, please fill in our online form on the Contact page.

I’d like to give a brief message of thanks and appreciation for the delivery of school lessons recently.

Our children, Sophie and Thomas have been been in school over the recent weeks and after discussions that we have with them it is clear that considerable effort and hard work is being put in to ensure that the school remains open with lessons being delivered. I believe that adjustments have been made to classes, some lessons are being covered and Mrs Armstrong has been involved in covering too. Considering government guidance, pupil and staff absence this can not have been an easy task so we would like to offer our genuine thanks for ensuring that our children are still receiving high quality learning and appreciate all of the painstaking work that has been done to achieve this.

Work during Autumn 2020

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to you and your team. Last night for Adam and I was absolutely incredible and I honestly believe without your support it just wouldn’t have been possible.

Every single teacher told me that Adam is doing incredibly well and spoke with such care and compassion – it was just wonderful! I’m so proud of him. Very grateful to be a part of Unsworth Academy!

The pupils in this school are a shining example of what our education system should be about. They are engaged, polite, respectful well presented and enthusiastic. The session was a delight from beginning to end and we could not have been made more welcome. I would do this again anytime.

Myself and my husband would just like to thank all the staff that were involved in the Ski Trip last week. It is greatly appreciated that they gave their own time up and also took time away from their families to take the learners on this trip. Thank you all very much for all your time and effort in making the ski trip last week such a memorable experience for our son, Thomas. He had an amazing holiday, gained some new friends, gained lots of new experiences, and had lots of fun which has led to creating an extra special memory for him to reflect back on in years to come. We looked forward to seeing the daily Tweets that you took time out to write also. Thank you once again.

I wanted to acknowledge what can only be described as an amazing parents evening for my daughter. She is making such stunning progress in all subjects. We recognise this is down to the work she puts in herself but after the recent parents’ evening we also realise what incredible members of staff you have. Each and every one was enthusiastic and certainly knowledgeable about the children they teach.

Parents Evening, 21st March 2019

May I take this opportunity to say thank you to all the staff and pupils who helped in the production of the High School Musical 2. Our Year 5 children, who attended the dress rehearsal on Tuesday 12th February were inspired and amazed by the production and spent all afternoon discussing it – Good luck when performing the show to parents, they’ll definitely be impressed.

Feedback from primary school who attended the performance of High School Musical 2

The school is a school of excellence. So far I have seen excellent values and staff. Well done.

Thank you for the wonderful football tournament which was held at Castlebrook High School on Monday 18th June. All the children really enjoyed participating in the competition. As one of the local primary schools, we feel that these transition sessions between High School and Primary Schools are extremely valuable. We greatly appreciate the effort the PE department put into organising such an event to ensure that it was successful. Also my I take this opportunity to complement the exceptional behaviour of your pupils who helped out at the event, especially those who played a warm up game against our team.

It was an absolute pleasure to visit the GCSE PE pupils from Castlebrook High School. Their intrigue about gender inequality within sports culture was clear, and their energy to engage in the debates was excellent. I’d like to thank both the staff and pupils for the warm welcome and good luck with your studies going forward!

I wanted to let you know how impressed I was with your staff and students on this year’s ski trip to Austria. I was the rep in charge of the group , and thoroughly enjoyed their company. The students’ behaviour was really good and Mr Peacock , the party leader, did an excellent job ensuring the students had a really good trip and were making good progress with their skiing, with great support from his team.

As parents we are very grateful the way school is supporting our young people. We are proud of all of you, the dedication our teachers how and give to these young people will set them up for life. They are learning lots of other skills and people skills they will need in the world around them. You are an excellent team.
