Unsworth Academy
Positive Behaviour for Progress PolicyAlthough not statutory, this guidance has been produced to help anyone whose work brings them into contact with children and families to identify child abuse and neglect and take appropriate action in response.
Introduction to this Policy
Rationale
Good behaviour is essential for an effective, orderly, pleasant and safe learning environment. At Unsworth Academy we want to create the best place for teachers to teach and learners to learn. Good professional relationships between staff and learners are vital to ensure good order in our school. Good and outstanding teaching plays a critical role in securing good and outstanding behaviour. All teachers will be supported to ensure that their teaching is at least securely good. This policy is also built upon the understanding that early contact home and early intervention are key to preventing emerging lower level concerns becoming more serious ones.
Aims
The aim of the Positive Behaviour for Learning Policy is to determine the boundaries of acceptable and unacceptable behaviour in lessons, rewards and consequences and how they will be fairly and consistently applied. At Unsworth Academy we acknowledge that it is the responsibility of all staff, learners and community members to ‘Respect’ the rights of each other in and around school. With this in mind we must agree to adhere to the “Five Respects”.
